Major Gift Initiatives
Catapult often works with clients who want to conduct a major gift initiative without actually conducting a lengthy capital campaign. Usually these initiatives include a solicitation period of 12 months or less. The focus is on key major donors including individuals, foundations, or corporations who have the wealth capacity to move a project forward with one-time major gifts.
Usually a combination of board members, key staff, and some volunteers form a solicitation team to raise the gifts needed to complete the dollar goal for the project.
Catapult partners with its clients to write the case statement, identify prospects, develop ask amounts, strategize the solicitation of each prospect, and train solicitors. The goal of this type of solicitation is to raise a large dollar amount from a few well-researched and personally solicited prospects in a short period of time.
